Structural restoration project to protect the World Heritage Site
<Ancient Roman Colosseum>

EBARA’s pump was used to clean the outer walls of the Colosseum, a World Heritage Site in Rome

In the restoration project of the ancient Roman Colosseum carried out in 2013, a booster set of EBARA’s vertical multi-stage pump model EVMG was used as a high-pressure jet pump to clean the outer walls. This full-scale restoration was the first major work done on the Colosseum in 73 years since 1939.
Instead of merely rubbing the surface of the valuable World Heritage Site with cloth, the pump applied high-pressure water to wash away the dirt that had accumulated over many years on the rough surfaces of the walls without damaging the outer walls of the Colosseum. This work helped to restore the natural color of the outer walls. This pump, which was delivered to a contractor specializing in architectural design and restoration work for ruins, has been used for cleaning various World Heritage sites in Italy since the completion of the restoration work at the Colosseum.
