A tank installed in the water-release system of hot-water heating and hot-water supply systems, or in the circulation system of secondary refrigerants (cold water and brine) in cooling systems, for the purpose of absorbing the expansion of liquid due to abnormal temperature increases and, conversely, preventing air from entering the system due to shrinkage or water loss caused by abnormal temperature drops.
