Challenge/Solutions

In the Kujukuri and Minami-Boso areas of the Boso Peninsula, which have been using unstable well water for a long time, the demand for tap water has increased due to population growth and urbanization. On the other hand, in the Keiyo Waterfront Industrial Zone, which stretches from Chiba City to Kimitsu City, there was a need for stable industrial water. However, the Boso Peninsula did not have a large enough water source to meet these water requirements. Therefore, the "Boso Conduit" was built to carry the water of the Tone River to these areas. It transports water from the Tone River to Otaki Town in Minamiboso, a long distance of about 100 kilometers, eliminating the need for water shortages in areas where it is needed and supporting people's lives.

Features

The Yokoshiba Pumping Station is the starting point of the Boso Channel, which takes water from the Tone River, pumps water brought through the Kuriyama River, and sends it to the waiting station.

From 2015 ~ 2020, we carried out work to renovate most of the mechanical and electrical equipment, including the replacement of three pumps, without stopping the operation of the airport.
