Overseas Activities

1.EBARA Hatakeyama Memorial Fund Technology Seminar

Based on our philosophy of "EBARA Living Together with the Local Community," we established the "Seiji Hatakeyama Memorial EBARA Fund" and hold free technical seminars, mainly in Southeast Asia, to utilize the technology and experience that the EBARA Group has cultivated through its business for the development of local communities around the world. The theme is "Pump technology necessary for infrastructure development," including flood control, drainage, water supply, and irrigation. In recent years, we have also been holding refrigeration technology seminars in response to requests for technical seminars related to refrigeration technology.

Furthermore, in 2015, we began donating our pump units and cutaway models of pumps to universities in developing regions who said, "We want the latest pumps for research and education, but we don't have the budget."

2.Donating school meals to children in Africa and Asia

Since 2015, we have been carrying out "social contribution through company cafeterias" at our head office, Futtsu office, Fujisawa office, and Sodegaura office, and since 2018, we have also added the employee cafeteria at our Kumamoto office, for a total of five offices. As a form of social contribution that employees can easily participate in, we participate in the TABLE FOR TWO program *1 run by the nonprofit organization TABLE FOR TWO International, and are working on donations for "eating a healthy lunch" and matching donations *2. Supporting school lunches also contributes to improving children's school attendance rates, which leads to the development of human resources who will lead the future.

For each healthy lunch purchased, 20 yen will be donated to provide one school meal for a child in a developing country.
  2. For each donation plate (20 yen) placed in the cafeteria, the company will donate 10 yen and each employee will donate 10 yen.

3. "Campaign to deliver picture books to children in Asia"

We support a campaign to put local language translation stickers on Japanese picture books and deliver them to children in Asia. Ebara Group employees from all over the country participate in this program, working at times that are convenient for each employee, such as during breaks or after returning home, to help children who are unable to attend school due to conflict or poverty, or who have never seen a picture book before. This activity, which was previously carried out every spring, was changed to take place before International Literacy Day on September 8th in 2018. In addition to the "Picture Book Delivery Campaign," we are providing an opportunity to think about literacy and education.

Ebara Rescue

The flooding caused by the heavy rains has caused widespread damage, and recovery efforts are being carried out by NGOs, volunteers, and local residents. However, decisions on site are often left to individual judgment, resulting in variations in recovery methods, costs, and time. As a result, efficient recovery is difficult, and the confusion and burden on victims is increasing.
In response to this situation, the "Ebara Rescue" project, launched in 2022, aims to build a new business model that contributes to flood recovery. This time, under the supervision of Professor Nakatani of Shinshu University, we created a "Flood Preparedness Manual for Homes." This manual provides easy-to-understand illustrations and checklists for daily preparations, emergency measures after a disaster, and restoration work.
EBARA will support efficient restoration by making the manual data public and donating booklets. We also strive to improve our corporate value in order to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

3. "Water, Air and Environmental Forest" environmental conservation activities

As a forest regeneration partner of Kanagawa Prefecture, we carry out forest conservation activities such as thinning and weeding. The employees and their families who participated in this activity had a fun time learning about aquatic life and mountain plants, and deepened their understanding of the importance of watershed forests and the importance of activities to protect forests.
