Work Responsibilities
We are involved in testing work to evaluate the performance of liquid hydrogen pumps developed by EBARA. Currently, various measures are being taken to prevent global warming, and one of them is to use hydrogen as fuel instead of petroleum or city gas. This is because it is clean energy that does not emit carbon dioxide even when burned. However, in order to use it in the same way as petroleum or city gas, a pump that quickly transports hydrogen in large quantities is required. Therefore, we are constructing test facilities to perform performance evaluation tests on liquid hydrogen pumps.
Regarding Daily Motivation and How to Acquire Skills
It can be said that being involved in this project or working at EBARA is itself a social contribution. Isn't that more rewarding than anything else? Originally, I came to EBARA saying “I want to be involved in hydrogen infrastructure work” for a future decarbonized society. All of these are first-time tasks, and hydrogen is difficult to handle. Each task takes time, and I feel pressured. Still, I want to enjoy the process of overcoming these hurdles and solving problems. Also, many of the products of this company are essential in the world, and I feel that being able to learn that know-how is also of great value.
Future Aspirations and My Message to Younger Generations
The job of changing (creating) our own future is really fascinating. However, it can also be said that it is a project that cannot be done with half-hearted feelings. Since we are handling hydrogen, a high-pressure gas, there are various risks involved. Failure is not an option when it comes to trial and error. I want to be a human resource who can always be aware of safety, and I want the people I work with to be like that. EBARA has played the role of an “unsung hero” in various fields such as water supply and sewerage, flood control, and semiconductor manufacturing businesses. Through the hydrogen business, I want to be that kind of person in a decarbonized society.
