Quality Control and Assurance

Work Responsibilities
At EBARA, we manufacture ozonized water generators essential for semiconductor manufacturing. My role is to verify that these systems are manufactured safely and correctly, and that finished units meet all required specifications. Originally, I started working at EBARA as a temporary employee in general administration, but while performing data entry tasks, I noticed that the test results of the equipment were different than usual, and I began to ask, "Why did this happen?" I kept asking questions. As a result, I gradually began to be entrusted with more responsibilities related to parts inspection on the manufacturing floor and verification of manufacturing equipment. Eventually, my intuition that 'something feels off' was recognized as a vital asset in quality assurance, leading to my current assignment. I am currently working as a full-time employee.
Daily Motivation and How to Acquire Skills
As for acquiring knowledge, I first learned about the QC (Quality Control) Certification, read through textbook materials, and studied what quality assurance and quality control are from scratch. When it comes to the equipment, my approach is to look things up online first, then talk to experts in the design and engineering departments to confirm my understanding. The cooperation of those around me is also very important. Starting with zero technical knowledge meant there was a lot to study, but ironically, the 'why' questions that come precisely from having zero knowledge are actually important. I believe that facing those questions and pursuing each one makes this job so rewarding. Moreover, the perspective of quality assurance is useful in daily life, so it can be effectively utilized when faced with choices during regular shopping.
Future Aspirations and Message to the Next Generation
I am now responsible for the digital transformation of quality management, and I hope to enhance quality operations through digitalization and the use of IT. As digitalization progresses, data analysis will become easier, which will also contribute to the prevention of quality nonconformities. For young people, what is necessary for quality assurance is the ability to notice discomfort and the attitude of not leaving discomfort unaddressed. Those who do not leave things unclear and can seek answers through dialogue with those around them will demonstrate their strength in quality assurance. I would like to increase such members. I believe this job, which allows for a deep understanding of the product's background and the ability to think from a holistic perspective, is truly rewarding.
